One suspects that these price-less jackets were issued on the copies sold to Crime Club subscribers, who received their books by mail. The only other copy of this book that your cataloguer has seen also does not have a price. The price is typically printed below the clipping. All four corners of the jacket are slightly clipped, as are most jackets from the Crime Club in the mid-1930s. The dust jacket is very good with several closed tears and some chipping along to the top edge, just touching the 'T' in 'The' at the top of the spine. A very good copy in the original black cloth blind embossed with a skull design. He was particularly interested in Mexico and the Spanish language (he also spoke Choctaw, French, and Italian) and wrote a book on the history of Mexico from the indigenous perspective, The Mexican Earth (1940 republished 1996). He was the first commercially successful Native American and Oklahoman mystery writer. Downing was a member of the Choctaw Nation, born in Indian Territory (now Oklahoma) in 1902. Like most of Downing's novels, this one is set in Mexico, in this case among the American ex-pats in Taxco. The second novel featuring Downing's recurring character, the US Customs Service inspector Hugh Rennert. The mythology aspect that Kelly Hashway has created in this series is really interesting, with zombies, necromancers/Ophi, Medusa, and Hades, and then you have Jodi, the main character, who has the power to both heal. Jodi is faced with a lot of maturing to do, since this book packs a hell of a punch filled with heartache, action and impossible choices.Hardcover. 3.5 stars Stalked by Death is the second installment in the Touch of Death Series and picks up where Touch of Death leaves off.

We also see a new side of Alex, the jelaous and frankly, a little jerk side of him. more He comes to the school and he and Jodi have a connection which doesnt sit well with Alex. Jodi is growing up, she needs to take much more responsibilities in this book to honor her deal with Hades but she also has a lot of decisions to make.

I love Jodi and Alex and the world Kelly Hashway created with all the mythology. Review 2: This book takes you on a ride you wont soon forget. The ending wasn't surprising I knew that the author wouldn't leave the precious characters from book one just hanging. This was a good sequel but I found it a bit slow up until the last few chapters. He was a very intriguing, compelling and mysterious character and I found myself fascinated with the guy.

Review 1: Not as good as the first, however I did enjoy the addition of Chase.
